This Week's Podcast

I had an epiphany moment this week thinking about social media content, specifically Instagram.

I was challenging myself to think outside the box and wondering how to stand out.

As I watched what was happening online I realized that it's all based on showing expertise but also proving other people wrong. The "stitch incoming" theme seems to be all the rage right now.

And at its root, it's proving someone wrong or adding more to what they have to say.

I don't want to contribute to that theme of conversation online. I want to be inspiring, helpful, and useful in my own right, not using someone else's content as a stepping stool.

That's what I'm covering today in the podcast.

How to create inspiring content for Pinterest - both images and the type of content.

Pinterest Marketing Tip

Brands are finding success on Pinterest by understanding and catering to the unique mindset of users at different stages of their customer journey.

With over 482 million monthly users planning for future events and activities, engaging with audiences based on their specific goals at each stage has proven to be the key to optimal results on the platform.

McDonald’s set out to reintroduce the Big Mac to Gen Z on Pinterest by creating unique content across popular categories, from nail art to fashion looks and home decor.

They utilized various ad formats and invited pinners to browse their Big Mac board full of visually compelling Pins mirroring the layers and colors of the burger. Their ad creative is so fun and inspiring to look at.

Takeaway for you --> Think about the age of your audience or the audience you're looking to get in front of.

The name of the game in 2024 is to try new things. We have to be curious, open to new ideas, and challenge ourselves to get out of the ruts we've been in.

I like this example and it inspires me to think differently.
